What is Emotional Freedom Therapy or Tapping?


Often referred to as ‘Tapping’ Emotional Freedom Therapy is a very effective way of clearing unwanted feelings helping to release limiting beliefs which can then be replaced by new, more positive beliefs

Similar to acupuncture, EFT focuses on the meridian points — or energy hot spots to restore balance to the body’s energy, but with no needles, just using finger tips.

This technique allows people to deal with a difficult or painful emotional experience without having to keep reliving it by talking about it time and time again making it an easier and more comfortable way of making the changes necessary.

EFT tapping therapy has been demonstrated to improve the symptoms of several mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression, irritability, sleeping difficulties, uncontrollable anger and PTSD amongst many other conditions.

There are also occasions when the body holds on to emotional pain, this often happens when someone finds it hard to process difficult occurrences or situation in their life. A build-up of this emotional pain can sometimes manifest itself as physical pain, EFT can help to release this build-up of emotions and as a result the physical pain also disappears.

Because the techniques are so simple, it can be used effectively as a self-help tool, enabling people to actively contribute to their own healing and self-development process. 

EFT can be very effective in children as it is so easy for them to learn and can be made into a fun activity.

It can play a major part in helping children release fear, anxiety, trauma in a very short amount of time as children do not have as a rule have the same amount of emotional baggage as adults do and are not concerned in the “how’s” and “why’s”, they just want to feel better.
